Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland and international teams competed for ‘The Mackinnon Challenge Cup’ on Saturday 26 July, during the Imperial Meeting at the Bisley National Shooting Centre. Teams of 12 firers, main coach & 3 target coaches, 3 plotters, adjutant and captain, the Mackinnon Match is the combined score over 900x and 1000x, with a maximum score of 1200pts and 240 vs
This year only Scotland and England competed against the UKAF for ‘The Northamptonshire Cup’ and NRA Gold Medals on Friday 25 July, during the Imperial Meeting at the Bisley National Shooting Centre. Teams of 12 firers, main coach & 3 target coaches, 3 plotters, adjutant and captain, the UKAF Match is the combined score over three distances, 300x, 500x and 600x, with a maximum score of 1800pts and 360 vs.
Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland competed for ‘The National Challenge Trophy’ on Thursday 24 July, during the Imperial Meeting at the Bisley National Shooting Centre. Teams of 20 firers, main coach & 5 target coaches, 5 plotters, adjutant and captain, The National is the combined score over three distances, 300x, 500x and 600x, with a maximum score of 2100pts and 420 vs.

The Scottish Long Range Match Play Championship for smallbore rifle (aka the ‘Freuchie’) was held over 28 and 29 June during the recent Haig meeting. This knock out style event sees shooters competing in groups of 3 or 4 over 1 card at 100yards to reach the next round. Click here to find out the results for the 2025 Freuchie!
This annual weekend event in mid May, organised by the RAF TR Club, took place on 17-18 May and consists of training sessions in the mornings, the National Match (normally a team of 20 firers, coaches and plotters shooting at 300x, 500x and 600x) on the Saturday afternoon and the Mackinnon Match (normally a team of 12 firers, coaches and plotters shooting at 900x and 1000x) on Sunday afternoon.
