2025 Mackinnon Match - Match Report
2025 Mackinnon Match - Scotland’s winning team
Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland and international teams competed for ‘The Mackinnon Challenge Cup’ on Saturday 26 July, during the Imperial Meeting at the Bisley National Shooting Centre. Teams of 12 firers, main coach & 3 target coaches, 3 plotters, adjutant and captain, the Mackinnon Match is the combined score over 900x and 1000x, with a maximum score of 1200pts and 240 vs.
The weather was dry with a challenging wind. Scotland fielded a strong team, which included 6 ex-commonwealth shooters. After 900x, England was ahead by one point over Ireland and 2 points over Scotland. Jersey was close in 4th position, 4 points behind Scotland. It was all to play for at 1000x. Scotland was well prepared, and our range drill was very clean with smooth change overs between firers. The coaches wind reading and communication was excellent and with the firers shooting flat elevations and the plotters centring the groups, this proved to be the winning combination.
The team scores were as follows:
Scotland: 1165 with 102v
England: 1155 with 118v
Wales: 1143 with 110v
Ireland: 1143 with 108v

Jersey: 1130 with 96v
Canada: 1127 with 109v
United States: 1126 with 90v
