2025 National Match - Match Report

Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland competed for ‘The National Challenge Trophy’ on Thursday 24 July, during the Imperial Meeting at the Bisley National Shooting Centre. Teams of 20 firers, main coach & 5 target coaches, 5 plotters, adjutant and captain, The National is the combined score over three distances, 300x, 500x and 600x, with a maximum score of 2100pts and 420 vs.

The weather was wet, windy with the odd burst of sunshine, which added to the challenge, but did not ‘dampen’ the spirits. Scotland fielded a strong team, and although our scores at 500x and 600x were competitive, as a team we lost too many points at 300x, which has proved in the past to be our ‘Achilles heel’.

The team scores were as follows:

1.       England:           2068 with 262v

2.       Wales:               2054 with 244v

3.       Scotland:         2040 with 230v

4.       Ireland:              2028 with 208v
