Scots Included in British Shooting Potential Programme for 2026

On Monday 12 January British Shooting confirmed the athletes selected onto its Olympic and Paralympic Potential Programme for 2026, with cohorts across Shotgun, Rifle and Pistol.

The Potential Programme, launched for the first time last year, sits directly beneath British Shooting’s World Class Programme (WCP) as part of British Shooting’s performance pathway. The programme is designed to accelerate the development of emerging talent while building depth and sustainability beyond the LA 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

About the Potential Programme

The Potential Programme has two clear objectives.

  1. Aims to identify and support athletes who can demonstrate their ability to progress rapidly towards selection onto the World Class Programme.

  2. Focus on identifying athletes with the longer-term potential to develop towards qualification for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, ensuring a strong pipeline of talent for future cycles.

Athletes on the programme follow a domestic training and support model, integrating with World Class Programme athletes and coaches throughout the season. This structure provides exposure to high-performance environments while allowing athletes to continue developing within their home training systems.

The Scottish athletes for the 2026 Potential Programme cohort are listed below - STS would like congratulate each and every athlete for their selection.
