Scottish Target Shooting (STS) and the Scottish Clay Target Association (SCTA) are pleased to confirm we have, for a third year running, come together to confirm the details for the 2026 Scottish Olympic Trap Grand Prix. The Grand Prix is once again being run at North Ayrshire Shooting Ground to ISSF standards and as such is being recognised by British Shooting as an event where qualification scores can be shot. About
Scottish Target Shooting (STS) and the Scottish Clay Target Association (SCTA) are delighted to confirm the details for the 2026 Scottish Olympic Trap Grand Prix.
Location & Date
This year's competition will once again be held at the North Ayrshire Shooting Ground and in 2026 will be on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 May.
Format
The competition will be run to the ISSF format of 125 Targets with two finals (men's and women's) taking place. The event has therefore been recognised by British Shooting and will be eligible for shooting selection scores due to its compliance with ISSF regulations.
Para Trap
North Ayrshire is an accessible ground and the Scottish OT Open is open to para trap shooters but please note that for the 2026 event there will NOT be separate para trap finals.
Age Categories
For the purpose of this event, the available categories for entering are Junior, Senior, Veteran and Super Veteran which are defined as follows:
- Junior: A Junior is under the age of 21 on the 1st January in the year of competition
- Veteran: A Veteran is 55 or over on the 1st January in the year of competition
- Super Veteran: A Super Veteran is 65 or over on the 1st January in the year of competition
Entries
Entries will only be accepted through the online booking form available through the STS membership and event system (please note, profiles can be created for free and STS membership is not required).
Entry fees have been set at £80 with juniors receiving a 25% discount (£60). The discount will be applied automatically when proceeding to your cart to pay.
Prizes
The following prizes will be available:
- Medals will be presented in the Men's and Ladies finals (including for Juniors).
- High Gun prizes will be available depending on entry numbers.
Booking Deadline
Currently, the event has been set to a maximum of 30 entries with places awarded on a first come basis.
If the maximum entry numbers are not reached prior, entries will close at 23:59 on Thursday 21 May 2026.
Practice
Event entry does not include costs associated with practice. A practice day has been made available on the Friday prior to the competition (22 May 2026). The cost will be £6 per round. Athletes are responsible for making their own arrangements directly with the ground with regards to practice.

- Limited catering will be provided on site but access to food outlets are available close to the ground by car.
