UK Armed Forces vs Home Countries Match
2026 UK Armed Forces vs Home Countries Match Team
This year Scotland and England competed against the UKAF for ‘The Northamptonshire Cup and NRA Gold Medals on Friday 24th July, during the Imperial Meeting at the Bisley National Shooting Centre. Teams of 12 firers, main coach & 3 target coaches, 3 plotters, adjutant and captain, the UKAF Match is the combined score over three distances, 300x, 500x and 600x, with a maximum score of 1800pts and 360 vs.
The weather was sunny and dry with a challenging wind. Although this is a high level match with competitive teams, Scotland used the opportunity to mix some less experienced team match shooters and coaches with experienced team members to develop the squad. Sitting alongside the new coaches, we had experience coaches, working as target plotters, which were able to give feedback to the coaches and shooters. The team was well prepared and adapted well to the team shooting processes that Scotland has implemented. The scoring improved as we went from 300x to 500x, but unfortunately at 600x conditions worsened and our score dropped accordingly, and we fell to 3rd place. In all, it was very pleasing to see how the team worked together, and the confidence gained by the new shooters and coaches.
The team scores were as follows:
UKAF: 1732 with 183v
England: 1726 with 169v
Scotland: 1675 with 142v
Scotland’s individual scores are presented in the table below.
Captain: Mr SD Glen
Adjutant: I Rowley
Main Coach: Mr B Logan

The weather was dry and hot with a challenging wind. Australia: 1139 with 120v
Wales: 1125 with 87v
