Seonaid McIntosh Becomes First British Shooter to Win Air Rifle World Cup Gold

Seonaid McIntosh has become the first British athlete ever to win Gold in Air Rifle at an ISSF World Cup after a stunning performance in Egypt.

With a qualification score of 634.0, Seonaid had secured a new personal best and a new British record before she’d even reached the final in Cairo.

She didn’t disappoint in the final either scoring 16-8 against Switzerland’s Nina Christen to secure her fourth career World Cup medal.

Speaking after winning Gold, Seonaid said to British Shooting:

It’s been excellent overall, I’m well happy. I think after a wee wobble in the final, to come back and win is going to be my highlight of today. I’d been a little bit nervous but was concentrating to get it down the middle so I’m glad that’s where it went.

Congratulations to Seonaid from everyone at STS. Full scores and results can be found on the ISSF website here.
