2026 Scottish Olympic Trap Grand Prix - Results

STS would like to congratulate all 18 athletes who entered and competed at the 2026 Scottish Olympic Trap Grand Prix at North Ayrshire Shooting Ground on 23-24 May 2026.

The weekend saw very pleasant weather conditions which led to some excellent shooting over the two days and a great atmosphere at the competition. The full list of scores and results can be see below but special mentions go to John MacDonald who won the Gold Medal and High Gun awards, Mark Shaw who won silver and Mark Robinson who won Bronze in this year’s competition.

Other prizes of note are Mark Shaw who came 1st in A Class, STS Performance Programme athlete Izzy Mackintosh who came 1st in B Class, Valdi Hefer who came 1st in C Class and Andrew Morrison who came 1st in D Class.

Special mentions also go to Izzy Mackintosh who qualified for the finals in second place overall with a Scottish Junior Qualification Record score of 118, Thomas McCarle for his energy and performance on the day (in view of Olympic Skeet being his preferred event) and last but by no means least an extra special mention goes to John MacDonald who shot 49 from 50 in the final, achieving a score equal to the current world record!

Finally, huge thanks and gratitude go to Douglas Hendry (STS Olympic Shotgun AMG Chair) for organising the event and to the team at North Ayrshire Shooting Ground for doing another amazing job in hosting the competition and making the athletes feel welcome!

Well done to everyone involved and hope to see you all next year!
