The 50m Prone Grand Prix 3 is held as part of the Caithness Open Meeting at Wick Old Stagers Club.

The third STS Prone Grand Prix of the 2026 season took place there on Saturday 13 June with a close fought competition despite the wind making for tricky shooting.

The Caithness Open and GP3 was shot at Wick Old Stagers Outdoor range on Saturday 13th June 2026. The weather was not ideal with moderate winds starting the day and steadily increasing and becoming more blustery throughout the day. Earlier shooting of the CSBRA Open aspects of the GP provided some good returns- particularly for the brave competitors who pushed on and completed their sets early in the day.

At 16:00,  STS took control of the range and proceeded with the Grand Prix. Both the A/B Qualification match and the C/D final progressed concurrently in what was now very challenging conditions with gusting winds and relatively low light.

The scoring was relatively steady throughout given the conditions, with Halkirk’s Sophie Campbell edging Bon Accord’s Anna-Louise Fraser in the C&D Final.

The leading 8 competitors in the A&B qualifier then moved to the ten shot final.

With the time restraints now imposed on each shot and the gusting wind on the range, the final became a difficult prospect to navigate, however, there was again some decent scoring throughout. Alloa’s Robin Law had a steady return of 101.4 which, when added to his qualification score of 577 ,ran out the winner with an accumulative score of 678.4.
