STS 50m GP4 Weekend

Denwood Delivers Another Memorable Meet

The STS 50m GP4 weekend, held on the 23rd and 24th of August 2025 at Denwood, Aberdeen, was a fantastic showcase of skill, sportsmanship, and a touch of friendly rivalry. With warm, dry weather and just enough breeze to keep competitors sharp, the conditions were ideal for a great weekend of shooting.

3P Grand Prix 4 Highlights

Although only Sheena Sharp was initially signed up for the 3P event, the weekend took a delightful turn when Kirsty Scott, making an early visit to Denwood, decided to jump into her first-ever 3P match.

With Sheena offering some quick instruction, Kirsty rose to the occasion and posted an impressive score of 540—an outstanding debut that earned her the top spot. A brilliant example of the welcoming spirit and camaraderie that defines the sport.

Prone Grand Prix 4 Highlights

The prone competition was buzzing with energy, thanks to two busy relays and a lively crowd. Chris Stirling set the tone early with a commanding 617 to win the Class A open and also led the A&B qualifier, making him the favourite heading into the final.

The final itself was a nail-biter, with Susan Jackson, Joe Docherty and Chris Stirling battling for the lead. In a dramatic finish, Joe clinched victory with a stunning final shot of 10.9—an absolute masterclass under pressure.

In Class D, Hannah Jackson not only took the open win but went on to smash her personal best in the C&D combined final.

Meanwhile, Ian Sellar topped the Class C open, sharing the spotlight with his dad, Ronnie Sellar, who claimed victory in Class B—a proud moment for the Sellar family.

The C&D final wrapped up with David Thompson delivering a standout performance, winning with a superb 606.4.

Huge congratulations to all competitors for their achievements and contributions to a fantastic weekend. Denwood once again proved to be a brilliant venue for both seasoned shooters and newcomers alike. We now look forward the the final event of the series to be held in Alloa on 30 and 31 August.
