William MacAulay, long term member of Alloa and District Rifle Club, was asked by the Clackmannanshire Sports Development Team to give a talk on the history of Alloa & District Rifle Club.
The event was held in the Speirs Centre in Alloa on Friday 15 August 2025.
Willie talked about the history of the club and gave more in depth information about Smallbore Target Shooting in Scotland. This included more details about club shooting and about taking part in postal leagues with clubs all over the UK.
The audience was then given a chance to try target shooting using the Skatt system which Willie had set up at the venue.
A question and answer session highlighted concerns on safety with Willie calming apprehensions and explaining that Target Shooting is a very safe sport and all shooting sessions are run by qualified Range Officers to keep people and equipment safe.
The event was so well received, Willie is returning for an encore talk in October.
If you live near Alloa - don’t miss this next event with Willie! You are bound to enjoy the talk and learn more about target shooting and about the Alloa and District Rifle Club.
