The Scottish Open 2026 took place from Friday 12th June to Sunday 14th June on Jubilee Range in Glen Tilt, Blair Atholl. This year saw another full list of seventy two competitors with places filling up within 4 weeks of entries opening. We were delighted to welcome entrants from all over the UK.
The weather over the three days was a typical Scottish summer with mixed conditions. Light rain on Friday, rain showers drying up on Saturday afternoon and a pleasant day for the long range shoots on Sunday. The typical Glen Tilt winds continued to cause issues as it rolled up and along the range.
On Friday, there were a couple who had a grip of what was going on with Angus McLeod winning the Stock Exchange and James Cook taking the Association Medals and the Friday Aggregate..
Saturday saw James Cook hold his top spot in the Grand Aggregate but the individual prizes were won by James Watson for the Bannockburn and Ryan Warren, the Presidents.
On Saturday afternoon, the range hosts the annual Lawrence match, the Scots vs the English. The two teams of 12 shooters and 3 coaches compete at both 600 and 500 yards. This years match was won by England, beating the Scots by 9 points. The Hossack Quaich, which is awarded to the highest scorer and their coach, was won by James Watson and his coach Jeremy Langley.
Sunday’s squadding is seeded with the top eight Scots competing in first detail in the final stage of the Caledonian Shield along with the next top competitors of the Championship Final. The winds were tricky and saw many of us get blown into the magpie and worse. Angus McLeod was the top Scot in the Caledonian Shield Final, winning it for the sixth time. Martin Liversage won the Faculty and Jeremy Langley top scored in the City of Glasgow and the winner of the Championship Final.
The Faculty - 900 yards
Ron Scaglione, who was never far from the top scorers in each competition, was the overall Scottish Open Grand Aggregate winner.
Congratulations to Ron, Jeremy and all the winners. Thanks to West Atholl for the use of their fantastic range, thanks to all of those who help run the meeting and kept the range going over the three days.
