Smallbore (SSRA) Hall of Fame

The Scottish Smallbore Rifle Association (SSRA) decided to institute a Hall of Fame in July 2007 to recognize the special contributions made by individuals to Scottish International shooting. This recognition is broadly based on:

  • The full Scottish Caps won across prone, 3position and air rifle

  • The level of match at which each cap was won in Scottish or Great Britain team

  • Medals won at major championships (eg Commonwealth Games, Commonwealth Shooting Federation (CSF) Championships or GBR teams).

Most of these shooters are from the modern era, but an attempt was made to take into consideration those Scottish shooters who never had a chance to attend a Commonwealth Games or a CSF Championships as shooting was only introduced to the former, and the latter only started up, relatively recently in historical terms. This means those shooters from previous generations may only have had limited opportunities to gain caps or win major medals.

The shooters inducted into the Hall of Fame is reviewed regularly to introduce new shooters to the list.
