2026 3P Grand Prix 1

The 2026 3P Grand Prix series got off to a fantastic start, with the ladies delivering outstanding performances and securing the top three scores of the day.

Kirsty Noble led the way in the women’s competition, taking gold with an excellent total score of 563. She was followed by Kirsty Scott in silver, with Sheena Sharp rounding out the podium in bronze.

In the Men’s 3x20m event, it was Martin Sinclair who claimed the top spot with a strong score of 543. Ian Sellar finished in silver, while Thomas Ralph took bronze.

Just outside the medals was David Thompson, who performed well despite only recently starting to attend the 3P competition—an encouraging sign for the future.

It was also very positive to see improved attendance at this event. There is still plenty of capacity available, so please help spread the word—it would be great to see this competition continue to grow throughout the year.

We were fortunate with the weather, enjoying dry conditions and light winds, which is quite unusual for this time of year and certainly appreciated by all competitors.

As with any first event of the season, there were a few teething issues. Some technical faults resulted in delays and, unfortunately, meant we were unable to hold a final. As a result, Grand Prix points will instead be awarded based on the qualifying match scores.

A big thank you to everyone for your patience and support on the day, and especially to those who helped Bruce keep things running as smoothly as possible.

Prone Grand Prix 1

The first round of the 2026 Prone Grand Prix Series was held at Denwood on 3rd May, where competitors were greeted by a typically Aberdeen day—cold but calm. Despite the chill, the event was well supported, with an encouraging turnout of 16 athletes who braved the conditions to compete.

There were some outstanding performances throughout the day.

In the Class A event
Chris Stirling continued his excellent form from the ‘All Ranges’ competition the previous week, recording a superb 620.7 to take gold. He was pushed closely by Kirsty Noble, who secured silver with a strong 619.4, while Thomas Ralph completed the podium in bronze.

In Class B
it was great to see Kay Taylor make a very welcome return to the range. She delivered an impressive performance, posting 616 to take gold. Joe Docherty claimed silver, followed by David Thompson in bronze.

In Class C
Sheena Sharp returned in excellent form, shooting a fantastic 619.3 to secure first place. Ian Sellar took silver, with Jackie Smith earning bronze—both also posting scores over the 600 mark, highlighting the high standard across the class.

The competition didn’t end there.

In the combined C & D Final, Sheena Sharp continued her fine run, taking gold with a score of 613.5. Amy Wallace followed with silver on 605, while Jackie Smith added another medal to her day with bronze at 600.9.

The A & B Final qualifying round was highly competitive, with 12 athletes battling it out. Thomas Ralph showed excellent form, posting 619.7 to top the qualifiers, just ahead of Chris Stirling and Martin Sinclair.

The A & B Final was a closely contested and exciting conclusion to the day.
Bobby Spence led for much of the match with a strong performance but ultimately finished in bronze. Chris Stirling held his nerve to take gold, with Thomas Ralph securing silver after another excellent showing.

Bruce McIntosh ran the range on time throughout the day overcoming the technical issues from the 3P event the day before. An excellent performance that matched the efforts of our competitors.  A big thank you to Bruce. Without his support we could not hold these events.

Overall, it was a highly successful opening round, with strong participation, impressive scores, and great competitive spirit throughout.
