Death of Janet Bailey

STS is sad to announce the death of Janet Bailey.

Although not directly involved in STS, Janet has been a long time supporter of smallbore shooting in Scotland having been involved in SSRA teams over a period of 30 years.

Janet was a regular in Scottish Ladies’ teams, 12 times at the NSRA National Meeting between 1974 and 2004, and once at the Scottish Meeting in 1982.

She was also Captain twice and Secretary of the Ladies Team four times between 1993 and 2009 (all at Bisley), and always on hand to provide support to the team.

Janet also shot in the very first Scottish Women’s 10m Air Rifle team at the British Championships in 1975 - it would be 19 years before there was a ladies team fielded again.

The family have said that the funeral is going to be on Thursday 23 February at 10.00am at Ash Cemetery, next to St Peter's Church in Ash, Surrey. The family have said that anyone wishing to mourn Janet would be welcome.
