Lucy Evans

Where in Scotland are you from? I am from Forres in the North, however I am currently at university in Edinburgh.

What discipline(s) do you shoot? 10m Air Pistol.

Which coaches have helped you get to this point in your shooting journey? I am primarily coached by the STS coaches through the performance programme. I have also had the opportunity to work with British Shooting coaches while at training camps and international competitions.

How did you get involved in the sport and what was your shooting journey to get on to the performance programme? I was introduced to shooting through Tetrathlon when I was around 9, and then at the end of 2018 I got talent spotted for the British Shooting development pathway through the school's pistol competitions. I then also applied and was successful in getting onto the STS Tier 3 programme. Since then, I have moved forward to the STS Tier 2, and now the Tier 1 programme, alongside the British Shooting Talent Academy.

Where you do your shooting? I am based in Edinburgh, so I mainly train in the Edinburgh University range at the Pleasance Sports Complex, but STS and British Shooting training camps mean that get the opportunity to train in a lot of other ranges across the UK as well. I also have access to the facilities in the Pleasance for S&C gym sessions.

What are your hopes and plans for the future in terms of your shooting career? Looking forward, I plan to get more experience competing internationally, and continue developing as an athlete - hopefully with more opportunities in 2022. However, long term, my main goal is to represent GB & medal in European, and World cups, ultimately leading to the Olympics.

Any other interesting non-shooting related fact about yourself that you would like to mention? I am currently studying Sport Science at the University of Edinburgh.
