Police Scotland Update on Applications and Renewals
STS Webinar Sessions
To support and inform members across the country, STS is looking to deliver interactive webinars on areas of interest and/or areas STS believes members will find valuable. To keep sessions accessible they are online, completely free, are normally between one and two hours hour long and run in the early evening so members still working can access them. Most, if not all sessions, will also be live so members can not only listen but also ask questions and have a live discussion. We are also open to suggestions from members through our education survey to help inform any future sessions.

About This Session
Over the last 18 months STS has received a number of questions regarding applications and renewals, most frequently regarding questions members have been asked by officers during the application or renewal process. We have also had some questions if there has been a change in process or policy, especially in light of the terrible incident in Plymouth.
This session is designed so Police Scotland can outline what to expect when going through the application or renewal process. This will help members to identify if and when officers fail to follow the process correctly and how applicants can appeal, should they wish to do so.
Police Scotland have also been working hard behind the scenes, looking to move part of the process online to reduce paper correspondence and increase efficiency. At this session Police Scotland will be able to provide an update on how this is progressing, what changes will be happening and the proposed timescales for the introduction of these.
As always, there will also be a chance to put your questions to Police Scotland, prioritising questions received in advance.
