Borders Field Shoot

  • Thirlestane Castle Lauder TD2 6RU (map)

The Scottish Southern Counties Association are pleased to announce that their annual “Borders’ Field Shoot” will be held on Saturday 7th July 2018 on the “Lauder” range in the grounds of Thirlestane Castle.

The main competition is a “Double Dewar” (40 shots at 50 metres, and 40 shots at 100 yds.) held under N.S.R.A. Rules.

The leading 10 shooters will then be invited to compete in the 50 shot final, at 100 yds.

If time permits, there will also be a pairs “Sharpshooter” Disc Shooting Competition.

As was the case last year, this is to be run on the range where the NSRA Scottish Meeting is held and on the day immediately following the close of that event.

The range is just 25 miles south of central Edinburgh, just off the A7, follow the signs for Thirlestane Castle, the range is on the right just after you pass through the impressive gateway!

For those attending the “Scottish”, it can be a pleasant way to round off the week in an even more relaxed environment! If you’re not fortunate enough to be attending the National Scottish Meeting, this is a good opportunity to experience the shooting conditions that have been challenging everyone else for the previous week!

Entry forms will be available on the day (shooting starts at 10:30am) and may also be available on the range during the N.S.R.A. meeting.
